We built a kegerator for pony kegs (1/6 keg) to show you how easy it can be. The hardest part is figuring out if your refrigerator is going to fit the keg you want. For a pony keg you need approximately 4.4 cu. ft. If you can find or have a small fridge without a freezer it will probably be an easy fit. The newer apartment style refrigerators I found in Bend stores all had a small freezer, which had to be moved to make room for the keg and tap. We also had to cut out a little bit of the shelves in the door to let the keg sit upright. We decided to put the faucet through the door on this one, which is a sure fire way to make sure we didn’t have to worry about going through refrigant lines. (with a tower tap on the top of the refrigerator you must make sure there are no refrigerant lines going through that part of the refrigerator before drilling any holes.
