TinkerTaco Tuesday Meet and Greet with TinkerCAD

Have you ever wanted to learn computer-aided drafting (CAD) but didn’t have the necessary software or skills? Well, those days are over with TinkerCAD! TinkerCad is coming to Bend! Join us for our meet and greet event on July 26.

What’s TinkerCAD? It’s a simple, online 3D design and 3D printing tool for the masses. It’s user-friendly, and many use TinkerCAD to make toys, prototypes, home decor, Minecraft models, jewelry and so much more! Their motto (which is similar to ours) is “If you dream it up; TinkerCad can make it a reality!”

Last year, TinkerCad hit up the East Coast by train. This summer, they will be driving up the West Coast in a 1975 Fiat Spider!

Why a Fiat Spider? According to their blog

“Over the last few months, I’ve been working with local students from Leadership High School in San Francisco to brainstorm and design some custom parts for the car using Tinkercad, Fusion 360 and 123D Circuits. Components like the hood badges, turn signal bezels and a custom interior console are relatively simple to make (simple, but not always easy) using 3D models as the starting point for more manual processes like fiberglass and metal fabrication.

This year is also the 50th anniversary of the Fiat 124 Spider, and there is a huge community of DIY car enthusiasts (not just Fiats) along the coast. We’re hoping the examples we create will be an inspiration to take their projects to a new level. At the very least we’d love to meet some of the car folks along the way.”

Join TinkerCAD and DIYcave for TinkerTaco Tuesday Meet and Greet on July 26 at 7 pm. The TinkerCAD team will be on hand to do a question and answer session!
